Intelsat 12 (was PAS-12/Europe*Star-1)

Europe*Star Limited, headquartered in London, is a joint venture of Alcatel Spacecom of France and Loral Space & Communications of the United States. Europe*Star, a fixed-satellite services satellite, provides Ku-band services to Europe, Southern Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia. Alcatel was the prime contractor. SSL provided the satellite bus, and integrated and tested the satellite in Palo Alto, CA.

Europe*Star 1 was sold to PanAmSat in July 2005, and changed the name to PAS 12. Intelsat changed the name of the PAS satellite to Intelsat 12 in February 2007.
