Megan Fitzgerald is Senior Vice President of Program Management at SSL and has served as a leader in the commercial space industry for more than 30 years. She is responsible for all of the spacecraft under construction at SSL and coordinates the engineering, manufacturing and support disciplines required to build satellites for SSL’s customers.
Previously she was Vice President of Production, where she led the manufacturing, assembly, integration and test teams, and before that she was Executive Director of Advanced Programs and Systems where she was responsible for all new business proposals in support of commercial sales and marketing activity around the globe.
From 1994 to 2007, Ms. Fitzgerald was senior vice president of space operations for Globalstar, Inc. In that role, she directed development, deployment and operation of the Globalstar space segment as well as procurement of the space and launch segments for the second generation Globalstar satellite constellation.
Prior to joining Globalstar, Ms. Fitzgerald worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in both engineering management and business development roles. She holds a B.S in civil engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in structural engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
